  • About HSCP Kannada Kali
    Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡ) belongs to the southern branch of the Dravidian language family, mainly spoken in the state of Karnataka located in the southern part of India. In addition, it is spoken all around the world by about 44 million people. Of those 44 million, 38 million people speak it as a first language and 9 million speaking it as a second language. Approximately we have about 10 thousand kannada speaking families in and around the Bay Area.
    Kannada Kali - KKNC, is a Kannada language teaching program, and a nonprofit organization started in 2006 by Kannada Koota of Northern California. Operating successfully for the last 15 years, Kannada Kali has grown from 50 to 500 plus students, and from one campus to four campuses over the years and conducted both in person and online classes. Kannada Kali - KKNC is a 6 grade/level proficiency program. The key objective of the program is to impart reading, writing, and spoken Kannada skills to learners.

  • HSCP Details

    1. Student meets with Guidance Counselor to make a request for "outside credits".
    2. Once the completed form is approved by the Guidance Counselor the student takes the class.
    3. Student turns in Kannada Kali transcript to the registrar.
    4. The Registrar will add credits to the high school transcript.
    5. In any current Fremont Union High School District, high school student is eligible to take a Kannada course for general elective credit. These credits may be applied towards highschool graduation requirements.
    6. Current FUHSD students who successfully complete a year long course with Kannada Kali- KKNC may receive 10 elective credits to apply towards meeting the overall number of units needed for the highschool graduation. Kannada Kali - KKNC does not fulfill FUHSD’s world language credit category.
    7. Students can attend the online classes on Saturday from 3PM to 6PM.
    8. Kannada Kali - KKNC’s MIlpitas and Cupertino centers are the two authorized centers to offer training and certification in Kannada.

  • HSCP Registration and Fee Structure for Kannada Kali

    Students are required to register online in our website using the "registration" menu option. You may also use the link Registration
    2)Registration Fees Structure
    a)General Class Registration Fees Structure:

    Every student needs to pay the Tuition and Book Fees at the time of registration. Tuition fee for all the three terms is $300.00. Fee includes ONE set of books needed for the school year. Books will be handed out to the student on the first day of the school or upon joining Kannada Kali which ever is later.


    b)Special HSCP (High School Credit Program Class Registration Fees Structure:

    The fee for students who register for HSCP class is $300 for two semesters of the school year.


    c)Tuition Fee Refund Policy:

    $10.00 service charge will be deducted if the student has not attended any classes or attends just one class. (Any books or materials have to be returned in good condition to be eligible for refund).


    80% of the tuition fees will be refunded for students withdrawing after attending only 2 classes.


    50% of the tuition fees will be refunded for students who have attended more than 2 classes and withdraws before the end of the first term.


    No refund for withdrawals after the start of second term.


    A written withdraw request must be submitted to the respective school principal in order to get the refund. No refund will be processed without the written request. Any class that the student is absent after the registration would be considered as class attended for fee refund purposes.
